Redefining Implant Esthetics: The Mucogingival and Restorative Approach

Achieving predictable outcomes in esthetic implantology requires more than surgical precision and implant positioning. The management of the transition zone - where prosthetics and soft tissues interact - has become a critical determinant of long-term esthetics and functional success.

This session will explore the integration of prosthetic components and surgical techniques as key factors in shaping peri-implant soft tissues and achieving stable aesthetic outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on tissue conditioning, emergence profile control, and soft tissue management procedures such as harvesting, augmentation, and preservation, alongside case selection, prognostic factors, and their role in enhancing restorative predictability.

Realism and Illusion: An Asset in Complex Implant Rehabilitation

In complex implant rehabilitation, achieving natural aesthetics is often challenged by soft tissue deficiencies, bone atrophies, and compromised anatomical conditions. In these situations, the ability to manipulate contour, light reflection, texture, shade variation, and shape becomes a fundamental asset to create restorations that appear harmonious and natural.

This lecture will explore how concepts such as polychromy, abrasion asymmetry, ceramic characterization, and light dynamics can be used to manage esthetic challenges in full-mouth and complex implant rehabilitations. Through clinical examples, participants will discover how subtle restorative and ceramic details can help redirect perception, mask discrepancies, and minimize the visual impact of tissue deficiencies or deformities.

Multidisciplinary Implant Strategies and the Digital Revolution
Dr-Ernest-Lucas
Think Prosthetics First: The Role of Digital Planning and Stackable Guides in Esthetic Implant Dentistry

Abstract: Achieving predictable esthetic outcomes in implant dentistry requires far more than accurate implant placement. True success begins with a prosthetically driven vision, where the final restoration guides every decision from diagnosis and treatment planning to surgery and soft tissue management.

This lecture will explore a contemporary digital workflow that places the prosthetic outcome at the center of treatment planning. Through a series of clinical cases ranging from single implants in the esthetic zone to full arch rehabilitations, participants will learn how digital planning, guided surgery, and stackable guide concepts can be integrated to improve precision, efficiency, and predictability.

Special attention will be given to the role of stackable guides as a powerful tool for transferring the digital treatment plan to the clinical environment, facilitating surgical execution, provisionalization, soft tissue conditioning, and restorative procedures. The presentation will also discuss critical peri-prosthetic considerations, including implant positioning, emergence profile development, management of hard and soft tissues, and the interaction between surgical and restorative phases.

By understanding how to "think prosthetics first," clinicians can simplify complex treatments, reduce complications, and achieve more predictable long-term esthetic and functional outcomes.

Interdisciplinary Esthetic Planning: Sequencing Decisions for Long-Term Stability

This session explores smile design as a shared clinical language across prosthodontics, periodontology, and the wider restorative team. Emphasis is placed on prosthetically guided healing and on leveraging deliberate perio–prosthetic synergies to improve predictability, aesthetics, and long-term stability. Through real clinical workflows, the session highlights strategies for effective team communication, decision sequencing, and role clarity, ensuring efficiency without compromising biological principles. Particular attention is given to identifying and managing the clinical and logistical bottlenecks that commonly arise in multidisciplinary cases, transforming complexity into a structured and repeatable process.

Shaping Esthetics: Soft Tissue Management from a Surgical & Prosthetic Approach
Dr-Vanessa-Frazão
Beyond Knots: Suturing Secrets in Periodontal Microsurgery

Successful outcomes in periodontal plastic surgery depend on the synergy of three fundamental pillars: precise flap design, meticulous flap preparation, and precision suturing techniques. However, while the preparation of the recipient site sets the foundation, the final predictability of root coverage is heavily dictated by the ultimate management of the soft tissues. This presentation highlights the critical role of suturing as a decisive step in achieving absolute flap stability and preserving vascularity. We will explore how mastering advanced suturing strategies serves as the essential link between surgical execution and long-term clinical success, providing the mechanical stability required to ensure consistent, aesthetically superior, and predictable results in the management of gingival recessions.

Soft Tissue First: Redefining Esthetic Outcomes in Implant Dentistry

In implant dentistry, it is often the soft tissue that defines the final esthetic outcome. This lecture focuses on the critical role of soft tissue management in the esthetic zone, highlighting techniques that preserve, augment, and sculpt the peri-implant architecture. From atraumatic extraction and ridge preservation to advanced connective tissue grafting and provisionalization strategies, a comprehensive, minimally invasive approach is presented.

Special attention is given to the interplay between surgical and prosthetic parameters, including the influence of prosthetic contours, emergence profile, and the use of conical connection systems in supporting soft tissue stability and long-term integration. By understanding how prosthetic design guides tissue behavior, clinicians can move from passive reconstruction to active tissue shaping.

The lecture integrates surgical precision with prosthetic vision, guiding clinicians toward stable, harmonious, and naturally integrated results.

Pink Driven Implant Dentistry: Biological Principles for Optimal Prosthetic Results
Dr-Giacomo-Dallari
Profiles: the Secrets for Successful Esthetic Restorations

When replacing a tooth with an implant we need to combine biological, surgical and prosthetic knowledge to deliver a perfect integration of our restorations.

As restorative dentists we cannot get an ideal outcome without a correct management of soft tissues. However, an improper management of the prosthetics can negatively affect even the best surgical treatment. This presentation will address the importance of a multidisciplinary perio-prosthetic approach to achieve seamless profiles at implant sites.

Learning Points:

Attendees will learn to better manage perio-prosthetic interface by:

  • Designing the immediate emergence profile in relation to different clinical situations.

  • Applying the latest pontic designs on edentulous sites.

  • Conditioning the tissues in later stages for a better integration.

Digital Implant Scans: Clash of Techniques

Digital dentistry is not intraoral scanners, 3D printers, or CAD programs, these are just tools. Dental professionals aim to balance the new digital possibilities with fundamental prosthodontic and implant concepts and evidence-based procedures. Additionally, the continuous development and enhancements of technology challenges dental professionals to stay up to date. This presentation will review the digital implant scan techniques, their classification based on their accuracy, results, and the evidence-based findings.

  • Recognize that digital technologies are only tools and conventional concepts are still vital.

  • Identify the main digital implant scans technique, data acquisition methods and the factors that can influence its accuracy.

  • Current status of photogrammetry methods
