    Dr. Yaniv Mayer-1.png-1

09:45 - 11:00 Soft and Hard Tissue Management in Implantology: How far can we go? Dr. Yaniv Mayer

The success rates of replacing missing teeth with dental implants have become more predictable with advancements in dental implant surface morphology, as well as the development of techniques to regenerate previously lost bone height and width. A variety of materials and techniques have been reported to be successful in maintaining the dimensions of the alveolar ridge following ridge preservation.

This presentation will address the anatomical and histological changes in the alveolar ridge, with a review of the various surgical techniques and technologies required when dealing with hard and soft tissue modifications. It will include clinical cases and show how a hydrophilic surface can deliver optimal results, enhance predictability, shorten treatment times, and support tissue management preservation.

    02

11:30 - 12:45 Bioactive Implant Surfaces: Could this be the key to accelerate our loading protocols? Dr. Luigi Canullo

In the replacement of missing teeth with implant-supported prostheses, specifically in the aesthetic area, several variables are identified – soft tissue management, post-extraction socket management, implant site preparation, abutment integration, and peri-implant soft tissue seal around the abutment. Bioactive surface implants enable accelerated osseointegration, enhanced bone formation, and high primary stability.

Suitable for early loading protocols, they allow clinicians to plan precise and personalized treatment, and provide optimal patient care, with safer and faster treatment and healing time. This presentation will address how successful results can be obtained by considering and managing all five variables, to meet patients’ demand for aesthetics, and accelerated treatment time.

    06

14:00 - 15:15 Tooth Auto transplantation: new trends and protocols Dr. Ernest Lucas Taulé

Dental tooth auto transplantation is beginning to gain momentum as a viable treatment option in our daily practice. Although there is scientific literature that supports this treatment, there is a general lack of knowledge on the topic. This presentation will address how to simplify the treatment and attain predictable results by providing both the general clinician and the specialist with the necessary knowledge of how to use 3D technology and guided surgery for the tooth auto transplantation procedure.

We will discuss theoretical concepts of tooth auto transplantation, as well as modern protocols for treating both the growing patient and the adult, and theorical concepts of dental traumatology and tooth auto transplantation.

    Dr. Iñaki-Gamborena-final

15:15 - 16:30 Managing Implant Failures in the Esthetic Area Dr. Iñaki Gamborena

Planning for aesthetic predictability and success while managing an aesthetic failure in the anterior zone, represents a great challenge for the dental team. The aesthetic outcome and natural appearance of the implant restoration ultimately depends on the execution and understanding of the team participating in the various treatment phases. The goal to create a harmonious “esthetic” outcome around dental implants, mimics the surrounding dentition and soft-tissue condition, as well as morphology, is indeed difficult to create and maintain long term.

This presentation focuses on the different clinical criteria, timing and sequencing, and new surgical-prosthetic techniques for maximizing optimal aesthetics. Our objective is to understand the importance of CTG around dental implants for long term results, learn the basic concepts of timing and sequencing with implants, and techniques and tools to ensure predictable surgical and prosthetic results.

    12 NOVEMBER 2022

    Dr. Giampiero Ciabattoni

09:30 - 10:45 The Digital Approach to Immediate Loading Dr. Giampiero Ciabattoni

Today, dental implants are the most widely accepted and recommended way to replace missing teeth, a result of innovative implant technology. This includes guided implant surgery – implant placement via dedicated software that generates data from the patient’s CT/cone-beam CT, and highlights important anatomical structures.

Inaccuracies found during the procedure may lead to errors affecting the final implant positioning, restorative outcome, and patient safety. In this presentation, we will review guided implant surgery, and managing routine and complex cases using digital implant technology, with a focus on traditional and digital immediate loading protocols.

    01

11:15 - 12:30 Guided Dental Implant Surgery: Single Implants, Full-Arch and Bone Level Guides Dr. Pedro Moura

In this presentation, we will review several cases of increasing complexity where guided implant surgery was performed. We will also discuss various types of surgical guides, from very simple single tooth cases to full-arch and bone level cases, citing clinical examples of each one.

Further, we will cover both the value-added benefits and the downsides of each procedure, including bone harvesting guides, zygomatic guides, full-arch, sinus, and single implant guides.

    05

14:00 - 15:15 Bone Reconstruction: Where do we stand now? Prof. Federico Hernández-Alfaro

Bone reconstruction in implant dentistry is witnessing a paradigm shift. While bone reconstruction of defects resulting from atrophy, injury, congenital malformations, or neoplasms has become a routine part of dental rehabilitation procedures, it requires sound knowledge of bone repair processes and graft behavior.

In this presentation, we will address both the present and future of bone reconstruction based on these 5 key principles – 1. Avoid reconstruction whenever possible; 2. Follow a comprehensive approach; 3. The tissue will still be the issue; 4. Full customization, and 5. Incorporation of bioengineering in our practices.

    03

15:15 - 16:30 Soft Tissue Management in Bone Augmentation Procedures Dr. Luca De Stavola

Augmentation procedures are often involved in implant dentistry, as tooth loss and pathology reduce the available bone for a correct 3-dimensional implant placement. Biological knowledge of new bone formation is fundamental for any clinician who wants to perform predictable surgeries.

This presentation will focus on the biological aspects that have a relevant clinical impact on the outcome of the surgical procedures, to help the surgeon make the optimal choice in terms of technique and graft material to be used.
